Homemade Bread Recipe: Simple and Delicious

There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked bread wafting through your home. This homemade bread recipe is not only easy to follow but also yields a delicious, fluffy loaf that will make you never want to buy store-bought bread again.

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups warm water (about 110°F)

  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 eggs

  • 8-10 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

Activate the Yeast: In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the yeast is bubbly and activated.

Mix the Ingredients: Add the honey, olive oil, and eggs to the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined.

Add the Flour: Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing well after each addition. Continue adding flour until the dough is soft but not sticky. You may need slightly more or less than 10 cups of flour.

Knead the Dough: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic. If you have a stand mixer with a dough hook, you can use that to knead the dough.

First Rise: Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place until it has doubled in size.

Shape the Loaves: Punch down the dough to release the air. Divide it into two equal parts and shape each part into a loaf. Place the loaves in greased loaf pans.

Second Rise: Cover the loaf pans with a damp cloth and let the dough rise again until about 1 inch above the rim of your loaf pans

Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the loaves for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

Cool and Enjoy: Remove the loaves from the oven and let them cool in the pans for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Tips for Perfect Bread:

  • Make sure your water is warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast.

  • If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour, a tablespoon at a time.

  • For a softer crust, brush the tops of the loaves with melted butter right after baking.

This simple recipe is perfect for beginners and seasoned bakers alike. Give it a try, and enjoy the delicious results! Happy baking! ☺
